FAQ Friday – About Those Required Federal Posters

Q: Do employers need to post all required federal posters at all company locations, or can they be posted at the main branch only?

A: Posting requirements vary by statute; that is, not all employers are covered by each of the U.S. Department of Labor’s statutes and may not be required to post a specific notice. For instance, some small businesses may not be covered by the Family and Medical Leave Act and would not be subject to the Act’s posting requirements. For information on coverage, visit the Employment Laws Assistance for Workers and Small Business (elaws) Poster Advisor.  The posters are you are required to post must be posted at all locations and work sites where they are clearly accessible to all employees. The Idaho Department of Labor makes all posters available in English and Spanish and employers can downloaded them free of charge from our website at labor.idaho.gov.
