The U.S. Census Bureau has released 2020 Census data for county and municipality population changes, race, ethnicity, age 18 and over population, group quarters population and housing occupancy status.

Data for all of Idaho’s 44 counties and 201 municipalities is available in detailed tables on Idaho Department of Labor’s website at lmi.idaho.gov/census.

Statistics are available for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, every congressional district, metropolitan area, county, city, census tract and census block. The release comes after a four-month delay due to executive changes in release dates and rigorous validation on 10% of the 2020 Census data.

Redistricting committees in each state have eagerly awaited the release in order to re-evaluate political borders – a process that occurs after each decennial census.

In the initial U.S. Census release at the end of April, Idaho ranked second nationally in percentage of population growth from April 2010 to April 2020 at 17.3%, following its neighbor Utah with 18.4% growth over the same period.

Further analysis on local population and demographics will follow.
