A mix of entry level and higher-level skilled jobs will be offered on Tuesday, July 11 from noon to 4 p.m. at a hiring event taking place at the Ukrainian Welcome Center in Nampa. The center is located at 304 16th Ave. N.
Positions open range across industries including cashiers, school bus drivers, production, administrative, industrial, retail, child care and many more.
Over 100 jobs will be available for job seekers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21 at Labor’s Post Falls Hiring Event. The event takes place at the Idaho Department of Labor office, located at 600 N. Thornton St.
Employers planning to attend include Cabela’s, Sleep Inn Post Falls, Environmental Control, Sherwin Williams, Sage Truck Driving School, North Idaho Dental Personnel, Bonner County Human Resources, Badger Building Supply, Texas Roadhouse, Arrow Construction Supply and more. All of the employers planning to attend are listed in the Idaho Department of Labor’s calendar of events.
Eastern Idaho employers with the highest number of job openings in the region will be at a hiring event Wednesday, June 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Idaho Falls Department of Labor office located at 1515 E. Lincoln Road.
High-speed internet, or broadband internet, once seen as a luxury service, is now understood to be a critical utility that brings equitable economic opportunity to many.
Broadband not only brings social connectivity, but can raise property values, increase job opportunities, boost education access and expand health outcomes through telehealth.  However, the difference in access between urban and rural America continues and was especially apparent once the pandemic set in.
This gap, known as the “digital divide,” is a gap rural America is all too familiar with. From 2017-2021, rural households in Idaho have seen smaller percentage increases in internet subscriptions (1.3% fewer) and computing devices (0.5% fewer) than urban households. With the pandemic highlighting this issue to a broader audience, lawmakers are working on closing this gap, increasing economic opportunities for rural households.
More than 30 Treasure Valley employers from several industries will be looking for workers at a job fair Thursday, Aug. 18, from 2 to 5 p.m. The event takes place at the Dick Eardley Senior Center, 690 N. Robbins Road, in Boise.
Participating employers include Amazon, Guerdon, City of Boise, Norco, St. Alphonsus, Darigold and many more.
Among the many open positions are paralegal, facility maintenance, operations supervisors, bus drivers, maintenance technicians, parks maintenance, financial analyst, housekeeping attendant, concierge, administrative assistant and marketing associate.
Idahoans living in remote, rural areas of Idaho’s five most northern counties can now access state employment services in seven mobile office locations.
“Our mobile office model is for Idaho citizens without a Labor office in their community,” explains Department of Labor Director Jani Revier. “Our partnerships with local libraries, community centers, city halls and other organizations allow us to deliver face-to-face services to rural Idahoans. Our footprint is larger now than ever before.”
All mobile Labor locations offer walk-in hours and appointments staffed with a Department of Labor workforce consultant who can help with writing resumes, filling out job applications, preparing for an interview, accessing job training resources, filing for unemployment insurance benefits and other services.
