The Idaho Department of Labor is hosting a hiring event in Post Falls on Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This event takes place at the department’s Post Falls local office, located at 600 N. Thornton St.

While over 1,000 job openings are currently listed in Kootenai County, Labor Economist Sam Wolkenhauer shared the top five industries looking for workers include administrative and support services; hospitals; ambulatory healthcare services; food services and drinking places; and insurance carriers and related activities.

To help fill some of these openings, the department is bringing together 30 employers offering over 150 jobs.

A few of the attending employers include: Aaging Better In-Home Care, Buck Knives, Eagles Club, Environmental Control, Huntwood, the Idaho Division of Veterans Services, Inspiro, Kootenai Health, North Idaho Dental, Shabby Fabrics, Silver Ridge, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and others.

Job seekers interested in attending the event will be able to present an updated resume to HR personnel and interview for positions of their interest.

Positions featured at the hiring event include caregivers, cleaners, assemblers, painters, knife makers, certified nursing assistants, manufacturers, bar staff, phone sales representatives, builders, call center agents, housekeepers, dental assistants, assistant managers, technicians, buyers and many more.
