New IdahoWorks: What Unemployment Claimants Need to Know

The unemployment insurance website will be temporarily unavailable starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 until 7 a.m. Monday, June 15.

The temporary shutdown is necessary because beginning June 15, we are launching a new IdahoWorks, a free online system job seekers use to find jobs

Q. I normally file my weekly report every Sunday. When should I file my weekly report during the temporary shutdown?

A. Our system will be available at 7 a.m. MDT Monday, June 15. Provided you file your weekly report on Monday, you should receive an eligible payment for week ending June 13 on Thursday, June 18.

Remember, you have until Saturday, June 20 until midnight to file your weekly report for the week ending June 13.

Q: Will my payment for week ending June 13 be delayed?

A: It may be delayed by one business day. Normally payments are available Wednesday. If you file your weekly report on Monday, June 15, your payment will be available by Thursday, June 18.

Q. If I wait too long to file my weekly report for the week ending June 6, am I unable to file my weekly report for that week?

A. Please contact one of our staff members at (208) 332-8942.

Q. Since I am unable to use your website after 6 p.m. MDT Wednesday, June 10 to look for work, do I still have to look for work during the week ending June 13?

A. Yes. Although the main Idaho Works job search engine will be unavailable during this planned outage, our expectation is you will still look for work for the week ending June 13. You may use other work search sites, apply online with employers or contact employers in person or by email.

If you have questions, please contact us at (208) 332-8942.

Q. Will your local offices be open on Thursday and Friday, June 11 and June 12?

A. Yes. Though lobby computers will not be available for use, local offices are open for business Thursday and Friday, June 11 and 12.

If you have questions, please contact your nearest local office.

Q. What if I have questions about my unemployment insurance claim while your system is down?

A. Many of the unemployment insurance systems used to manage the program will be available to our staff. We will be able to answer most unemployment insurance questions. Please contact us at (208) 332-8942.

Q. Does this change how I file unemployment insurance?

A. The unemployment insurance system – including how you file a weekly claim – is not changing. You will continue to use your Social Security number and PIN to log in.

The job search system is changing on June 15, which means how you search for a job will change. If you have questions regarding the new job search application, please contact your nearest local office or read the FAQs for job seekers.

Q. How do I look for work in the new system?

You do not need to re-register if you are a currently a job seeker using IdahoWorks. However, you will receive a new user name and password. That information will be emailed to all users.

Remember: the unemployment insurance system is not changing, only the job search system. The new job search system does not change how you file or log into the unemployment insurance system.
