With the new year on the horizon, Idaho Department of Labor Research Analyst Supervisor Craig Shaul will explore the many economic changes the Gem State has experienced since 2013.

Shaul will guide the conversation based on the long-term projections of Idaho’s industries and occupations to provide context into the past 10 years – including the state’s growth and labor market developments.

“Idaho’s economy has helped fuel and been fueled by a population boom for nearly ten years,” said Shaul. “From 2012 to 2023 thus far (January to September), Idaho’s population increased by over 343,000. If these additional residents were to collect themselves to start a new city in Idaho, its population would be 45% bigger than Boise’s 2022 population of 236,632.”

This is the last webinar of the 2023 labor market information series.

The presentation will take place Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to noon (MDT) via Zoom.
