“Growing Together,” a professional development opportunity for eighth-12th grade counselors, college and career advisors, and career and technical education professionals, is scheduled for Aug. 7-8 in two locations – Idaho State University in Pocatello and College of Eastern Idaho in Idaho Falls.
The two-day workshop, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day, is designed to strengthen the connections between education and businesses to stimulate awareness of career opportunities with high-wage, high-growth industries involving simple machines, drones and unmanned aircraft systems, electronics, energy, cyber and coding, and robotics.
The event will feature:
- Industry tours
- Speakers and panel discussions
- Hands-on STEM and career awareness activities
- Networking with STEM experts and industry partners
- Free resources and interactive materials for the classroom
The event is free; breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided. Travel and lodging stipends may be available by contacting the organizers. Specific location information is provided through the online registration for each event.
