Kootenai County continues to see an increase in job postings. With 1,475 job openings during the month of January, job openings have grown by 40%.
Around 30 employers will be trying to fill some of those openings during a monthly hiring event in Post Falls, Wednesday, Feb. 21. Job seekers can show up anytime from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Labor office located at 600 N. Thornton St.
Businesses planning to attend include Amazon, Fred Meyer, Senske Services, Shabby Fabrics, Coeur d’Alene Public Schools, Sunshine Minting, Batteries Plus, Kootenai Health, First Line Homecare and many more.
The top five industries hiring in Kootenai County include administrative and support services, hospitals, ambulatory health care services, insurance carriers and related activities, as well as professional, scientific and technical services.

Employers are looking to fill a wide variety of jobs and will conduct interviews for interested applicants. Open positions include tooling machinist, welders, dietary aide, cook, cashiers, medical assistants, caregivers, supervisors and others.
Job seekers are encouraged to bring an updated resume and dress for success.
