Over 900 northern Idaho employers posted 4,000 jobs online in May 2024. Top listings included health care diagnosis, retail sales, food and beverage workers, and management positions.

April, May, June and July contribute to 80-90% of total regional employment growth for the year in Coeur d’Alene. After July, minor employment declines are expected heading into the fall months, according to Labor Economist Lisa Grigg.

“Construction projects are going strong, tourism is ramping up and schools have closed for the summer,” Grigg said.

The Idaho Department of Labor is hosting a hiring event Wednesday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Post Falls office. The address is 600 N. Thornton St.

A wide variety of open positions will be available for job seekers including caregivers, hydraulic assemblers, welders, cabinet installers, machine operators, builders, call center support, financial coaches and more.

Employers planning to attend include Care to Stay Home, Groundforce, Harris & Bruno, Kootenai Health, Mentor Idaho, Meridian Constriction, Napa Auto Parts, Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital and many others.
