Idaho Falls outdoor job fair July 26 offers multiple job opportunities

More than 50 employers are taking to the Walmart parking lot in Idaho Falls looking for job candidates Wednesday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The location is 500 S. Utah Ave.

A wide range of employers attending include Idaho Rural Water Association, Local News 8, Teton Stagelines, Army National Guard, University of Idaho, Idaho Department of Transportation, Sage Truck Driving, School District 93 and many others.

Idaho’s June unemployment rate increases to 2.7%

Idaho’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate experienced a slight increase in June, rising by one-tenth of a percentage point from 2.6% in May to 2.7%.

June’s labor force – workers who are employed or unemployed but looking for work – increased by 1,778 people (0.2%) to 964,246.

Idaho’s labor force participation was unchanged between May and June, remaining at 62.5%.

Total employment increased by 1,058 (0.1%) to 938,529 while unemployment increased by 720 (2.9%) to 25,717.

Post Falls hiring event July 19 offers multiple job opportunities

More than 35 employers will be looking for job candidates Wednesday, July 19, at Labor’s Post Falls hiring event. It takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Idaho Department of Labor office, 600 N. Thornton St.

Employers planning to attend include Aerotek, Primerica, Ground Force Worldwide, Coeur d’Alene Public Schools, Fred Meyer, Kootenai Health and many others.

Available job openings include landscapers, warehouse workers, caregivers, CAD drafter, CNA, nurse, welders, builders, general laborers and more.

Over 300 positions open at Ukrainian Welcome Center Hiring Event

St. Anthony volunteer recognized for contributions

Amy Clements from St. Anthony was honored for her volunteer service as part of the Idaho Capital for a Day event hosted by Gov. Brad Little Thursday.

Amy Clements, center, was presented with Idaho’s Brightest Star award Thursday with Serve Idaho Commission Farhana Hibbert of Pocatello and Gov. Brad Little.

Serve Idaho, the Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism, recognized Clements with the Idaho’s Brightest Star Award for her exemplary volunteer service. She serves at multiple organizations including the Idaho Arts Lab, Fiber Arts Guild of Idaho Falls, Rockie Mountain School of Dance and Adams Elementary School in Rexburg.

The Idaho Art Lab nominated Clements for the extensive work she has done in leading the ceramic fettling team, which in turn has allowed them to generate revenue for the organization.

Idaho’s May unemployment rate remains at 2.6%

Idaho’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 2.6% in May, remaining unchanged for the fourth consecutive month.

May’s labor force – workers who are employed or unemployed but looking for work – increased by 1,719 people (0.2%) to 962,466.

Idaho’s labor force participation was unchanged between April and May, remaining at 62.5%.

Total employment increased by 1,215 (0.1%) to 937,462 as unemployment increased by 504 (2.1%) to 25,004.

Jobs in trades and manufacturing will be offered at CWI Career Fair June 20
